The FA Part I science group as one paper set: Newton's laws, moments and pressure in physics; the mole, formulae and the periodic table in chemistry; cell theory and the mechanisms of evolution in biology; and the algebra, geometry and matrices that the other three subjects depend on. Mathematics is treated as a shared tool here rather than as a separate subject, because that is how much of the numerical work in the science papers is actually done.
